What is in the MDM is also in the inventory
Intune, Jamf and Mosyle already know your devices, their serial numbers and when they last checked in. Inventaris takes over these details, so nobody types the same devices in a second time and both lists match.

What the module can do
Intune, Jamf Pro and Mosyle
Side by side too: Jamf or Mosyle for the iPads and Macs, Intune for the Windows notebooks, as is common at many schools. Mosyle is widespread there because its education edition costs nothing.
Linked via the serial number
Matching works via the serial number. It is on the casing and stays the same even after a reset, unlike the identifier in the MDM.
The gap becomes visible
Devices the MDM knows and your inventory does not appear in a separate list. You decide for each device what is taken over into the inventory.
Who has not checked in for a long time
A device that has been silent for six weeks may be sitting in a drawer, broken or missing. The list flags it so you can check in good time.
Nothing is ever deleted
If a device disappears from the MDM, it gets a note and is kept, with all loans, reports and requests on the inventory sheet.

What is asked next
Does Inventaris change anything in Jamf, Intune or Mosyle?
No. The connection reads only. Write permissions are neither requested nor used.
What about devices that are in no MDM?
Projectors, tools, measuring instruments, musical instruments: you record these as before. The connection adds to the inventory, it does not replace it.
Are units created automatically for us?
Only if you switch it on; the default is off. Otherwise you see the discovered devices in a list and decide device by device.
