For schools and school districts
Twenty tablets in a case, one beamer per room, three mobile ones for the assembly hall. Plus a teaching staff that wants to check for themselves what is available.
Day to day
What it hangs on, and what comes of it
First the situation, as it typically occurs there. Then what Inventaris makes of it.
- The beamer's gone Who has it is in the loan record. Whoever needs it on Thursday reserves it.
- No one knows how it works The instructions are attached directly to the device. That way many questions are cleared up without a ticket.
- One account too many Sign-in runs via Microsoft 365, with the same logins as in the classroom.
- The insurer asks Acquisition value and current value by category, as a printout.
- End of the school year Whoever leaves loses access. If the person still has devices, the application points this out so that they come back.
- The iPads are already in the MDM Jamf, Mosyle or Intune hand over their stock. You don't record the class sets a second time.
- The library runs on index cards With the Library add-on: scan the ISBN, students borrow and place holds themselves. Teaching materials go out as class sets.
The stock
What's in the inventory here
Much of it has no plug and is still recorded just like any other device. Whatever gets lent out belongs in here.
- Class sets Twenty tablets in a case, one set code. One scan issues all twenty.
- Beamers and document cameras Fixed in the room or mobile: booked differently, in the same stock.
- Teachers' notebooks Permanently assigned, without a due date and without a reminder. Yet findable at any time.
- Musical instruments and sports equipment Whatever gets lent out belongs in the inventory, even if it has no plug.
- Tools in the workshop With your own fields for inspection deadlines where they're required.
The start
The first three steps
In this order, because each step builds on the previous one.
- 1 Set up rooms Just as they're labelled on the door: B12, Aula, Medienraum.
- 2 Import the existing list Your Excel file with a preview, before anything is written. Class sets get a shared set code in the process.
- 3 Print and stick on labels With two pupils it's done in an afternoon, and after that the stock is scannable.
You do step 2 yourself; the template and preview are part of the subscription. If the list is very big or inconsistent, we'll take it on if you like, charged by effort with the price named up front. The whole process is in the manual.
What you need
These modules above all
The rest are ready when you need them and can otherwise be switched off.
Questions
What gets asked from this corner
Do teachers need to have an account?
No. Anyone who borrows only needs a staff record with a staff number. At a school that's the normal case. An account is only needed by whoever wants to sign in and reserve for themselves.
What happens at the end of the school year?
Whoever drops out of the security groups loses access at the next sync. If devices are still out, the application points this out. The record stays findable until everything is back.
We already have Jamf or Mosyle. Record everything twice?
No. The stock comes from there, linked via the serial number. You only add what no MDM knows: beamers, tools, instruments.
