The network in the caretaker's head, written down
In many organisations only one person knows which outlet in room 203 goes to which port. In Inventaris it is recorded so that everyone can follow it.

What the module can do
The server cabinet as a picture
Rack units, devices, front and back. Whoever stands in front of it recognises the slot straight from the picture.
Ports and links
Every port with its speed, PoE and VLAN. A link connects a port and an outlet, each side used exactly once.
Outlets with room and floor
Labelled the way they appear on the wall.
IP networks and addresses
Network, range, gateway, fixed addresses. With colour, so you can tell administration and teaching apart at a glance.
Pages and documents for the rest
Whatever cannot be captured in a field, such as “what to do during a network outage”, sits alongside as a page. Instructions, emergency procedures and training slides are kept there as Word, PowerPoint, Excel or PDF. With the Swyron AI add-on, Swyron AI answers questions about them, drawing on the documents released for this; release is set by default and can be switched off per document.
From UniFi instead of by hand
If you use Ubiquiti, you pull switches and their ports from the Network Application: a switch with 48 ports is captured in a single reconciliation. Each port shows what is currently connected to it, with speed, PoE and address.

What is asked next
Does this replace a proper DCIM?
No. The IT documentation is designed for organisations such as a school building with one cabinet and forty outlets, for which a DCIM would be too extensive.
Are the devices tied to the inventory?
On request. A switch has an inventory number, a patch panel doesn't. The link is therefore optional.
Does Inventaris change anything on our network?
No. The UniFi connection reads only: it switches no ports, restarts no devices and changes no settings. The account in the controller only needs read rights. Your own labels on a port are kept; the details from the network appear alongside them.
